Walk the distance, keep the distance

Hyoho Niten Ichi Ryu Kenjutsu

Hyoho Niten Ichi Ryu is an ancient traditional school of the Japanese arts dedicated to swordmanship.

Hyôhô Niten Ichi Ryu was created at the beginning of the 17th century by MIYAMOTO Musashi, one of the great figures in the history and culture of Japan.  Since that time, the school has transmitted its teaching in a restrained and quasi-secret manner.  The fame of this school comes from the stature of its founder within the martial, artistic and philosophic history of Japan, as much as from the rarity of its “two swords technique,” nito.

The students study the “techniques,” seiho:

Itto:  techniques with one sword
Nito:  techniques with two swords
Kodachi:  techniques with small sword
Jitte:  techniques with iron truncheon
Bo:  techniques with staff
